1. Introduction

DocGen ("we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your data when you use our document generation service.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google. We use this information solely to manage your account and personalize your experience.

Document Data

The content you enter into document forms (names, addresses, line items, etc.) is stored locally in your browser using localStorage. We do not upload, store, or have access to your document content on our servers.

Usage Data

We may collect anonymous usage data such as pages visited, features used, and download counts to improve the Service. This data is not linked to your personal identity.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide, maintain, and improve the Service
  • To authenticate your identity and manage your account
  • To enforce download limits and manage plan subscriptions
  • To communicate important updates about the Service
  • To detect and prevent fraud or abuse

4. Data Storage & Security

Your document drafts are saved in your browser's local storage and never leave your device. Authentication is handled by Firebase Authentication (Google), which uses industry-standard security practices including encrypted connections and secure token management.

We implement reasonable security measures to protect your account information. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

  • Firebase Authentication (Google): For secure user sign-in
  • Vercel: For hosting and deployment
  • Groq AI: For the AI chatbot assistant (conversations are processed by Groq's API and are not stored permanently)

Each third-party service is governed by its own privacy policy. We encourage you to review their respective policies.

6. Cookies & Local Storage

DocGen uses browser local storage to save your document drafts, chat preferences, and download history. We do not use tracking cookies. Firebase may set authentication-related cookies necessary for the sign-in process.

7. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share information only in the following circumstances:

  • When required by law or legal process
  • To protect our rights, property, or safety
  • With your explicit consent

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data
  • Clear your local document drafts at any time via browser settings or the profile page

9. Children's Privacy

DocGen is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, we will take steps to delete it.

10. Changes to This Policy
